In 2007 as I was preparing to speak at the Goddess Temple of Orange County, a friend
emailed an inquiry about my topic. I hadn't given it much thought. As I was sitting at the computer typing a reply, no
less than Goddess Kali herself apeared in my mind's eye, dancing with bended legs and arms. I had never worked with
Kali, before, nor had I ever summoned the courage to invoke her. She is not for the faint-hearted. She wanted me to invoke
her during my lecture at the temple. I was a little taken aback. At first I didn't even want to engage. She's
powerful and a little scary. If there is child trafficking going on, she will whip up a tsunami, if there is black
magic, she will stir up a hurricane. I had the thought that if I get into a temple with 60 other powerful women
and we invoke goddess Kali, Orange County will be burning and it'll be on the 6:00 news. Of course that did not happen...not
that day anyway.
What we need to always remember is masters, gods and goddesses are
unconditionally loving. They have already passed through the illusory trials and tribulations that we mortals continue
to endure as we burn away the dross of the ego, so that can we join with them in a blissful eternal dance of
time.
